Junyi (Jimmy) Liu is a classical pianist residing in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh, PA.  He has been playing piano since age 6, when he moved to Pittsburgh from Chang Chun, China.  Jimmy found much success in piano competitions while growing up, winning the Duquesne Young Artists, PPTA, MTNA PA State, Pittsburgh Civic Orchestra, and many others.  After high school Jimmy attended Carnegie Mellon University, where he received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in piano performance, as well as certificates in piano tuning and piano pedagogy.  He maintains a piano studio of over 45 students, ages 5-75, and does piano tuning for Carnegie Mellon University, Chatham University, as well as over 550 private clients.  His students have won competitions, performed at Carnegie Hall in NYC, Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh, and played with orchestras.  In addition to teaching at his home, Jimmy also teaches for Carnegie Mellon University, the Ellis School, and is the pianist for Epworth United Methodist Church.
